Peter Ngcobo is the Founder and President/CEO of Soweto Street Beat Theater Inc. In 1992, Peter relocated Soweto Street Beat Dance Theater to Atlanta Georgia. Peter’s vision and role as CEO is to market and promote the new South Africa and to create bookings for the dance group in the United States.  From 1992 – 1996 he was appointed to be the South African Olympic Advisor for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta GA. From 1998 to 2001, Soweto Street Beat was contracted by Walt Disney World’s Animal KingdomPeter Ngcobo to perform a South African music and dance production. Peter is currently working with major corporations to develop programs about African entertainment. He is skilled in design, decoration and coordination of the entire event. He is also consulting with individuals and organizations to establish businesses in South Africa.

While in South Africa, he worked in performing arts management and the entertainment industry for more than 30 years. Peter began his career in the Soweto community as an organizer of various youth and adult activities including sports, dance and music. His background includes extensive work with soccer, entertainment, corporate events, staging productions, set designs, props and stage lighting. He has also worked with South African schools and community centers as a director of entertainment and youth programs.

From 1986 to 1992, Peter worked with soccer organizations like Premier Soccer League (formerly NSL) and SAFA providing the entertainment for sports events like the JPS Cup, BP Top Eight Cup, BOB Save Cup, Iwisa Spectacular Cup, Coca Cola Cup and Miss World 1992 and many more. In 1980 Peter formed the business Street Beat Music and Lights for Hire in Soweto. From 1987 to 1992 Peter worked with the African National Congress (ANC).

Isabelle Doll-Ngcobo is the artistic director, choreographer and co-owner of Soweto Street Beat Theater Inc. (SSB).  Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa Isabelle started dancing ballet at the age of 7 and received her Masters in Anthropology. Currently, Isabelle is a holder of 11 certifications of different fitness techniques and is an ACE and AFAA certified Group Exercise Instructor.  As a lifelong professional dancer, Isabelle has been teaching for over 25 years.   She enjoys teaching all forms of dance including Salsa and Hip Hop, Modern Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Spanish, Traditional Indian Dance, Latin and African dances from across the African Diaspora. Isabelle is a sought after choreographer and master instructor. She conducts master dance classes and workshops around the world. isabelle

Some of Isabelle’s accomplishments as a choreographer and artistic director include: The Lincoln Center for Performing Arts, The Coco Cola World Cultural Festival, Walt Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Miss America USA, Miss World Pageant, Mardi Gras and The National Black Arts Festival. Isabelle has worked with various artists including Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Toni Braxton, Gladys Knight, Usher and many more.   Also, she has worked with Atlanta Ballet Company, Alvin Alley, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and Cleopatra Robinson Dance Company. Isabelle and SSB have performed at Dance Africa in Miami and Chicago with Chuck Davis.

In 1990 and 1991, Isabelle was nominated for Best Contemporary Choreographer at the Dance Umbrella Vita Awards in South Africa.  From 1992 – 1996 she was appointed to be the South African Olympic Advisor for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta GA.  She also choreographed Zulu Kingdom, a Soweto Street Beat Production at the 1996 Olympic Games.
